Chelsea were held at home to Aston Villa on Friday evening in the FA Cup fourth round and will now need a replay should they want to progress to the next stage of the competition

  

The Blues were wasteful in front of goal, especially in the first-half, in west London. They had plenty of chances, with the majority of them falling to Cole Palmer.


Noni Madueke, too, had a couple of great opportunities but Chelsea came up against an in-form Emiliano Martinez. The Argentine goalkeeper was more than equal to whatever the Blues had to throw at him at Stamford Bridge.



Chelsea will now have to travel to the Midlands and Villa Park to play a replay. Before that, though, they have some more crucial games, with a trip to Liverpool next on Mauricio Pochettino' agenda.
